Zooglea Zapper: We Tested the iFLO AC Drain Line Cleaning Smart Device
When you have a cold or the flu - or COVID-19 - you might take, say, Mucinex to break up the congestion. Well, if your HVAC system is the respiratory system of your home, your AC drain line needs a decongestant to keep it from getting stuffed up, too. Stuffed up with what, you may wonder? Zooglea.
Webster’s dictionary defines Zooglea as: “a gelatinous or mucilaginous mass that is characteristic of the growth of various bacteria when growing in fluid media rich in organic material and is made up of the bodies of the bacteria embedded in a matrix of swollen confluent capsule substance.”
In layman’s terms, it’s like snot in your AC system.

    You could also just turn off the heater and then run a hot water tap for a few minutes. It will push out the hot water, and dilute it with cold water. This is much quicker than waiting for it to cool down In an insulated tank

    It's not going to flow like that without water pressure. You will have to open a fixture on the hot side to open the system for water to flow if you turn off the valve at the water heater. OR turn water off at the main water shut off and open hot or cold at a fixture

    Air movement is air movement doesn’t matter what direction the fan is flowing is doesn’t affect the temperature, the air gets just as mixed. It’s a matter of if you want air blowing directly on you or not.

    Warning: Vinegar will not clean everything. The main component of vinegar, the one that actually does the cleaning, is acetic acid. It's a fairly weak acid and in vinegar it's very dilute. For certain stains vinegar will work just fine, however for some you might need a something different or something stronger. P.S. Never mix baking soda and vinegar. Mixing baking soda and vinegar has no addidional cleaning effect and actually makes them WORSE at cleaning.

    They are just scams to me who negotiated dominion energy to scam customers. Shame on dominion energy as well. Today I find out that they sneakily were charging us for 2 plans. 1 plan im 100% sure never signed up, second one was canceled but they didn’t cancel since 2020. The thing we didnt notice was this was our second house and my in laws lived so I never paid attention to the bills, on top of it who would check domionions bill for extra charges! So it’s definitely sneaky on their part! Stay away

    Wrong cool air is heavier it needs to be pulled up to keep bills low not pushed down that's why a 2 story house with a open stair well is hot upstairs the ceiling fans need to pull up unless you want to sit right underneath one to feel the effect,also depends on where your thermostat is located.

    This is hooey. The convective effect is felt either way since the circulation of air occurs whether it's going up or down. Yes, warm air in the presence of cooler air will tend to be near the ceiling (stratification) but will be quickly changed in the circulating motion driven by the fan's blades. Take a heat transfer class in mechanical engineering studies if you want to learn more.

    Good video! Although, you should do a follow up video on how to find a competent, trustworthy HVAC tech/company in your local area. What things should someone look for when selecting an HVAC company to do seasonal tune up work? ( How to find someone that doesn’t charge $250 bucks to replace a capacitor and/or charge you $300 a pound for a refrigerant top off on top of a $150 call out fee. Easier said than done where I live in California…Lol…smh)

    • @matthewjschmitz
      @matthewjschmitz Месяц назад

      That's always a concern with an unvetted technician. Having one you trust is a huge relief. For our purposes with respect to this particular video, scheduling an annual or bi-annual HVAC tune-up can prevent many of the problems that lead to the need for an emergency repair, therefore keeping the homeowner out the position where they're under the gun to get it fixed asap. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," is a cliche but it's a good one!🤘

    Since the benefit of a ceiling fan is only the "feeling" of coolness and not actually changing the temp, running a ceiling fan in an empty room on a summer day is a waste of energy. And worse, the motor is actually generating heat, although not much. So don't keep your fan running if you plan to leave the room for an extended period of time.
